Hey I need to pump water from a river and use be able to use it through a hose and also make the hose have pressure. I was thinking pump the water into a barrel and into a hose or something from there? Anyone know anything about if this would work? What would I need? thanks
also there isnt electricity so it needs to be manual
tried to send pix of water pump. no paste function on answers. anyhow a pulley at the top and bottom w/ a paddle wheel ran by river current. gear it down small pulley on paddle to big rope pulley under water to soak rope. an adjustable wringer pulley at top squishes water from soft rope into a drum or tank. i will try to email picture.
manual water pump system?
what are the different impacts of human activity in market economies on the river systems???
This is about how the rivers of civilisation are effected by the market economies..please help…and 10 pointts for best answer!!!!
please give me some guidance and any websites that would be helpful..thanx..xxxxx
There is pollution which is bad, damming for electricity which is a major problem. Water diversion, which can be problematic. Also Global Warming which can cause rising Sea Levels which move Salt Water further Upstream and can harm local wildlife.
Those are just a couple. Also these are not mutually exclusive to market economies, but they are encouraged in some ways.
I have land for sale in Chilean Patagonia….?
Dear Sirs,
I am contacting you to share with you information regarding a property we have for sale.
It is a 2025 hectare (5.004 acres) land in Cisne Medio, Austral Road, Aysén Region in the Chilean Patagonia. In the midst of a rustic environment, surrounded by mountains, it is largely covered by native untouched forest, with a 2km long interior lake and three interior valleys, bordered by the Cisnes river and crossed by the Sandoval stream.
Chile offers excellent guarantees to foreign investors, something which has been recognized internationally, it’s perfectly legal for a foreigner to buy a property. There are special regulations for foreign investments, but they are relatively simple.
Chile is a particularly safe and peaceful country, more over in the Patagonia, where in some places you can even leave doors unlocked with no fear something will happen. There is no corruption and public institutions work very well. Certain protocols are necessary for doing business here, so I would suggest you choose a lawyer buffet to assist you if you plan to invest in Chile.
There is a small village 12 kms from the property (Villa Amengual) with basic services and a runway suitable for small planes, and Coyhaique, the regional capital, is 160 kms south of the property (110 kms of which are paved). Regional plans include having the Austral Road paved by the year 2010, as well as bringing electricity and telephone services to this area.
To reach the property you must fly into Santiago,Chile. Once in Santiago, you must take a connection flight to the Balmaceda Airport, in the Aysen Region. Once in Balmaceda, there is a half hour trip to Coyhaique. The property is 2.5 hours from Coyhaique. Coyhaique has approximately 40.000 inhabitants, hospital, government offices, etc.
The property is an ideal site for an avid sports fishing fan, since it is completely isolated by important natural limits: the Cisnes river, that borders the property for 5 kms, and state-owned mountains that surround the rest of the property. To reach the property you must go across the river, but at the same time, since the river is only approximately 1 km from the Austral Road , this makes it both : an isolated place as well as a relatively easy place to reach.
Prevalent wildlife: fox, wild boar, Hurons, hares, pudu, pumas, caiquens and other regional birds. No snakes of any type (unless they can use a parka!)
Property taxes are currently very low, since it a rustic, rural property, no more than US$ 200 per year.
Our property is free of mortgages, all papers and documents are in order, ready to be sold. It is sold directly by us, the owners.
Price: US$ 1.780.000.-
Why must you invest in Chilean Patagonia?
Politically stable democratic government
Stable legal system, with clear, non-discriminatory laws
A free market economy, deregulated and competitive
Sound, stable, non-discriminatory economic policies
Constitutional guarantees for foreign investment
Favorable economic outlook with very good investment opportunities
Extremely open economy, with low customs duties and no non-tariff barrier
Highly developed, dynamic capital markets
Modern financial system with up-to-date technology
Tradition of profound respect for laws regulations
If you would like to visit the property, we can help you coordinate your visit. We own a small Mountain Hotel situated 125 kms north of the property, where we can gladly host you and help you with your visit.

The European Jew–A Question of Identity! What! European Jews?
What! European Jews? The African Jews of the Bible!
The current State of Israel was set up by the US, Britain and the United Nations in 1948.
The Scriptures tell us who they are: Most people have come to incorrectly associate the term Jew with Israel. While all Jews are Israelites, most Israelites are not Jews. It’s clear in the Scriptures, yet it is one of the greatest misconceptions Christians have. An Israelite is a descendant of Jacob, whom God named Israel (Gen. 32:28). Jacob (Israel) had twelve sons, of which only one was named Judah. The term Jew is the English translation of the Hebrew Yehewdiy means "descendant of Judah"–The Tribe of Judah–the Ethiopian Jews are descended from Jews who accompanied Menelik, the son of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, from Jerusalem to Ethiopia.
Israel included the city of Jerusalem and was named after Judah. In fact, Judah became the name of the southern kingdom when Israel divided into two kingdoms about 2900 years ago. The ancestry of Joseph is traced back to Judah. So is the ancestry of King David. In Jacob’s blessing of his 12 sons, in Genesis 49, he described Judah as a lion cub, saying that he would have his hand on the necks of his enemies and that he would be praised by his brothers. Jacob’s blessing of Judah, in Genesis 49:8-12, includes a passage that is traditionally understood by Christians to mean that Judah’s descendants would rule over the land of Israel, culminating with Jesus.
Christians believe the Jewish homeland was given to the Jews in perpetuity by God Himself. The Bible says that whoever blesses Jewish people shall be blessed and whoever curses them shall be cursed. The original Israel of the Bible was encompassed up to Egypt and through Syria and part of Iraq. That is what the Middle East dispute is about. That is why the Arab world is rebelling.
The Tribe of Judah–the Ethiopian Jews are descended from Jews who accompanied Menelik, the son of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, from Jerusalem to Ethiopia. More scientific theories place the Falasha in the Agau family of tribes. Isaiah 11:11 strongly implies that there was an established Ethiopian Jewish community in the days of that prophet, approximately 740 BC. European Jews and others in different parts of the world were barely aware of the Falasha for many years. The Falasha thought they were the only remaining Jews. They continued to follow Judaism as it was practiced before the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. Most Westerners and Protestant churchmen learned of the existence of the Ethiopian Jews from James Bruce’s five-volume work, Travels to Discover the Source of the Nile, published in Edinburgh in 1790.
The Garden of Eden was located in the Tigris-Euphrates Region of Africa. Ham had four sons, and his sons are the people of the African Continent–the Ancient Egyptians, Ethiopians, Somalia’s, Canaanites. Genesis Chapter 50 Verses 7-11, scripture describes ALL the Hebrews as looking like the ancient Egyptians.
Genesis 2:10 – “And a River went out of Eden to water the Garden; and from thence it was parted and became four heads.”
Genesis 2:13 – “And the name of the second river is Gihon; the same is it that compasseth the whole Land of Ethiopia.” Rishon and Gihon are located in the Tigris-Euphrates Valley. The Pishon and Gihon Rivers mentioned in Genesis 2: 11-13, wind and turn through the Land of Havilah, somewhere in the Persian Gulf. Today the names of the rivers are the Great Zab (South of Nineveh), and the Little Zab; the Diyala River flows into the Tigris at Baghdad, Iraq.
There were two Ethiopian nations in ancient times–Eastern and Western Ethiopia. There was an Ethiopian civilization in Southern Mesopotamia (Babylon), and the Ethiopian Tribes called themselves Babylonians.
Genesis 10:8 – “Cush begat Nimrod. The word Cush means Ethiopia. Cush is the father of Ethiopians. Nimrod ruled over the cities of Babylon, Erech, Accad (Akkad). The cities are situation in the Land of Shinar (Sumer).
In Genesis 11:26-26 Abraham was one of the fathers of the 12 tribes of Israel. Abraham’s father (Terah) came from the Land of Ur or the Chaldees. The Chaldeans are a Cushite Tribe. The Sumerians/Ethiopians/Mesopotamians (Elamites) settled from Mesopotamia to Europe. Currently this area now includes: Southern Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Northwest India.
Webster’s Dictionary (Gazetteer Section, p. 849) defines Sumerian as: The pre-Semitic population of the Lower Euphrates Valley. Sumer preceded Babylonia. The dictionary says there is a blood relationship between Dravidian Tribes of India and Ethiopian Sumerians (Elamites). Archeologists have found skeletons of the ancient Dravidian and Nedda types in Ur and Kish. Examples of Negrito types below: From http://andaman.org

The Book of Exodus describes a Hebrew (Jewish) presence in Egypt in the former Kingdom of Kush.
In the 9th and 10th Centuries B.C.E. Kings David and Solomon sought to expand Hebrew (Jewish) influence and trade throughout the Mediterranean, Egypt, the Arab Peninsula, the Horn of Africa and Persia.
The Bantu tribes of Southern Africa (where 40,000 members of the Lemba Tribe) still claim Jewish roots.
Jewish tribal groups in Senegal are the descendants of the Tribe of Dan. The Ethiopian Jews can trace their ancestry to the tribe of Dan. The trans-migrants established communities in renowned places as Gao, Timbuktu (where UNESCO still maintains notable archives containing records of its old Jewish community), Bamako, Agadez, Kano and Ibadan.
Jewish tribes have been situated in the heart of Africa since the dawn of recorded history. Ethiopia is mentioned in the beginning of the Biblical Book of Genesis, and there is no time in history when there were not Jews living there. From Ethiopia, they went west and south into the heart of Africa. Other Jews also migrated directly west from Egypt, entering Africa along the northern coast of the continent.
Starting about 300 AD, the Kingdom of Ghana began to be ruled by a dynasty of Jewish Kings known as the Za Dynasty. The founder of the Dynasty was a man named Za el Yemeni, who was descended from Jews of Yemen. He established his capital city at Gao on the Niger River, in what is now the nation of Mali.
According to the writings of Eldad the Danite, a famous Algerian Jewish author of the ninth century, Ghana was a Hebrew nation which followed the Law of Moses. The people of Ghana traced their roots to Jews of the First Diaspora of 600 BC, who were forcibly expelled from Israel by the Assyrians. In support of this, Eldad reported that the Ghanans possessed the Torah, which was compiled before the Diaspora, but not the Talmud, which was compiled in Jerusalem and Babylon much later, during the early centuries of the Christian era.
In the seventh century AD, the whole of Africa north of the Sahara desert was conquered by the armies of Islam. Subsequently, an extremely lucrative trade system developed with the Sub-Saharan Kingdom of Ghana. The commodities first traded were gold and salt. This led to the appearance of regular caravan routes across the Sahara Desert to various cities in Ghana. These cities became wealthy.
Shortly after the year AD 1000, the Kings of Ghana converted to Islam. Initially, the conversions were mainly for the purpose of fostering trade with the powerful Muslim states of North Africa, and had little to do with faith. But once Islam took root in the area, its impact grew inexorably.
The current Jewish homeland was set up on May 14, 1948, by the UN
"What I am trying to do is make the whole world safe for Jews," Harry Truman wrote as he wrestled over the decision to recognize a Jewish state in Palestine. Deeply affected by the Holocaust, Truman sympathized with Jewish aspirations for a homeland. In November 1947 he lobbied for the U.N. resolution that divided Palestine into Jewish and Arab states. Britain announced it would hand authority over Palestine to the U.N. by May 14, 1948.
After the death of Solomon Israel was broken up into 2 kingdoms. Judah – which consisted of Benjamin, Judah and the Levitical Priesthood (Levi). The southern kingdom was the remaining 10 tribes – they eventually scattered throughout the (world). These were the Jews that Yahshua (Jesus) prepared his disciples to gather. They are the Lost sheep of the House of Israel.
The modern Ashkenazim Jew–converts (from Eastern Europe) has tried to absorb all the nations and say they are whole again and living in Israel – but that is not true…the 10 tribes of millions of people that are still scattered – (the U. S., the American Indians, the Chinese, the Indian Dalits, the Ethiopians, the Jamaicans…on and on).
The European Jew is a convert….the converts run the Nation of Israel. They converted 1100 years ago, some may have been from the tribe of Judah (Jews) but it is a small minority. The name Sephardim was attributed to the Jews who were forced to leave Spain and Portugal in 1492. Many of these settled in North Africa, other parts of Europe and the Ottoman Empire.
Kristina Lord Comments
Genesis 15: Since I was a young child in the church, I remember the story of Abraham. I remember having read these very chapters and having sung the Sunday School song about Father Abraham. "Father Abraham, had many sons, many sons had Father Abraham, I am one of them and so are you, so let’s just praise the Lord…" But the truth did not click for me then as it did today when I read Genesis 15 with the wealth of knowledge that I now have.
Genesis 15:13-14 from the King James Version of the Bible reads "And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance."
After having read this I said to myself, "I don’t remember anytime in history where ‘Jews’ were enslaved for four centuries. The only people that I know of who were enslaved for four hundred years are American blacks who were taken from Western Africa." history that says that the blacks who are now inhabitants of North America are actually the descendants of Abraham. God will deliver black America as he promised Abraham.
If Jews were enslaved by the Romans for 4 centuries as blacks were, then either 1) there is a strong connection between today’s Jews and American Blacks, 2) there was a conversion by some Europeans to Judaism, 3) there was a mixture with some Europeans with blacks to create white Jews with "kinky hair", or 4) some other conclusion. The other question I have is what is the span in years of a generation? I am referring to a generation because in Genesis 15:16 (Kings James Version) it reads:
"But in the fourth generation they (Abraham’s descendents) shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full." In the Contemporary English Version it reads: "Four generations later, your descendants will return here (this bible notes that Amorites refers to a name sometimes used of the people who lived in Palestine before the Israelites) and take this land, because only then will the people who live here be so sinful that they deserve to be punished."
Read the book "the sign and the seal" by john Hancock, it is about searching for the holy grail and has littearly hundreds of pages about the ethiopian jews, nice to see someone interested in more than pop culture and electronics

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park
The Black Canyon of the Gunnison River, a United States National Park located in Montrose County, Colorado, has a unique and amazing landscape which was formed hundreds of centuries ago. The Black Canyon of the Gunnison is a deep gorge which the Gunnison River flows through. It is so deep and narrow that little sunlight reaches into it, making the walls look black. The action of water and rock scouring down through hard Proterozoic crystalline rock formed the canyon. Most of the rocks that lay along the length of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison are ancient; older than 500 million years, and are either metamorphic, or igneous, with some sedimentary layers along the edges. The rocks in the Black Canyon have a wide variety of minerals. The Black Canyon of the Gunnison is the only canyon in North America that combines the narrow opening, sheer walls, and startling depths. It is not known when the formation began but the area became a U.S. national monument on March 2, 1933. Just recently on October 21, 1999, the monument was made a U.S. National Park. The Black Canyon was proclaimed a national monument in 1933 by President Herbert Hoover. Congress made it a national park in 1999.
Congress has also designated the park lands below the canyon rims for additional protection within the National Wilderness Preservation System.
The Black Canyon of the Gunnison is amazingly deep and sheer, with plunging cliffs, soaring buttresses and the thundering Gunnison River. The greatest depth at Black Canyon is 2,722 feet, Warner Point. The narrowest width at the river is 40 feet wide. The Park itself encompasses an area of 47 square miles and contains the deepest and most dramatic 14 miles of the canyon, which continues upstream into the Curecanti National Recreation Area and downstream into the Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area, for a total of 53 miles. And it is still one of the lesser known parks in Untied States.
The rock layers of Black Canyon of the Gunnison tell a story of past environments, ancient animals and vibrant processes of change. This geologic canyon is unlike any other, in the sense that it is hard to explain the evolution of this structure which has taken about two million years to develop. Time is completely thrown out of balance. It is like a raw cut in the Earth’s crust exposing millions of years of geologic history, while sunlight enters only briefly each day due to its narrow opening. The Gunnison River runs along the canyon floor. The Black Canyon of the Gunnison has been carved and has gotten its shape by the Gunnison River in its rush to join with the Colorado River. Written history began by the Ute Indians living in the area back in approximately 1500 A.D. The canyon has been a mighty barrier to humans. Only its rims, never the gorge, show evidence of human occupation – not even by Ute Indians living in the area since written history began.
While the people of the Ute bands knew of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, it was an obscure geographic feature to explorers for hundreds of years. The Spanish were the first Europeans to canvas western Colorado with two expeditions, one led by Juan Rivera in 1765, and the other by Fathers Dominguez and Escalante in 1776. Both were looking for passage to the California coast, and both passed by the canyon.
Fur trappers of the early 1800s undoubtedly knew of the canyon in their search for beaver pelts. They left no written record of the canyon, though, probably because they couldn’t, in fact, read or write.
By the middle of the century, exploration of the American west had captured the nation’s attention. In turn expeditions came to the Black Canyon searching for railroad passageways, mineral wealth, or in a quest for water. Eventually explorers came to see the canyon, not for commercial wealth, but for the renewal and recreation that it offered.
Today, you can walk in the footsteps of some of these hardy and inquisitive forebearers. The canyon still offers a rugged and demanding experience, even as it did more than a hundred of years ago.
The Black Canyon of the Gunnison River is also the result of volcanic activity and the geologic activities of the Gunnison Uplift. The Gunnison Uplift was a block of crust that had been forced upwards during the Laramide Orogeny, a period of mountain building in western North America. The Gunnison Uplift allowed the Gunnison River to cut its way down through the thick layers of the sedimentary rocks of the Gunnison. The river then began to expose the much harder Precambrian basement rocks of the Gunnison Uplift. The Gunnison then began to battle the rocks beneath it. At the rate of about one inch per every hundred years, the Gunnison slowly worked its way through the crystalline rock, forming the narrow, steep-sided Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Seasonal floods,

it is when a river carves out a valley
Bungee Surfing – New Boardsport – Surf the River
Bungee Surfing is a new extreme sport where you ride a riverboard which is like a small surfboard/skimboard on a river going upstream at speeds of up to 30mph. How do you ride upstream on a river? Do you use a boat? A car? NO ! Riverboards are propelled upstream by a bungee system. The bungee system is a 20 foot section of rubber tubing that is stretched out and then propels the rider upstream. One end of the bungee system is anchored to any stationary, solid object along the side of the river — Rocks, trees, bushes make good anchors. How does the bungee get stretched out? The rider kneels on the board forcing it under water. Once the board is submerged, the rider then holds the nose of the board up and forces the tail of the board down in the water by standing on the tail. At this point the board is under water and at almost a 90 degree angle to the river surface. The board is now acting like the sail of a boat, but rather than catching air, the board is catching the river current and causing the board and rider to be pushed down stream. Once the bungee system is fully stretched the rider shifts his weight from the tail of the board to the front of the board. When the rider shifts his weight to the front of the board this causes the board to rise to the surface of the water and level out. At this point the bungee starts pulling the rider upstream. Once the bungee is done pulling the board upstream, the board releases from the bungee system. Once you are riding upstream you can carve turns and do all kinds of board tricks, big spins, ollies, shuv-it’s, kick flips, etc.

Monument Valley
Some Shots taken for a contenst.
Monument Valley is located on the southern border of Utah with northern Arizona (around 36°59′N, 110°6′W). The valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation, and is accessible from U.S. Highway 163. The Navajo name for the valley is Tsé Bii’ Ndzisgaii (Valley of the Rocks).
The area is part of the Colorado Plateau. The floor is largely Cutler Red siltstone or its sand deposited by the meandering rivers that carved the valley. The valley’s vivid red color comes from iron oxide exposed in the weathered siltstone. The darker, blue-gray rocks in the valley get their color from manganese oxide.
The buttes are clearly stratified, with three principal layers. The lowest layer is Organ Rock shale, the middle de Chelly sandstone and the top layer is Moenkopi shale capped by Shinarump siltstone. The valley includes large stone structures including the famed Eye of the Sun.
Between 1948 and 1967, the southern extent of the Monument Upwarp was mined for uranium, which occurs in scattered areas of the Shinarump siltstone; vanadium and copper are associated with uranium in some deposits (see Uranium mining in Arizona).
The twin buttes of the Valley (”the Mittens”), the “Totem Pole,” and the Ear of the Wind arch, among other features, have developed iconic status. They have appeared in many television programs, commercials, and Hollywood movies, especially Westerns.
Director John Ford’s 1939 film Stagecoach, starring John Wayne, has had an enduring influence in making the Valley famous. After that first experience, Ford returned nine times to shoot Westerns — even when the films were not set in Arizona or Utah (see The Searchers, set in Texas, but filmed here). A popular lookout point is named in his honor as “John Ford Point.” It was used by Ford in a scene from The Searchers where an American Indian village is attacked.
The Himalaya Range (Sanskrit: हिमालय, IPA pronunciation: [hɪ'mɑlijə]), or Himalayas for short, is a mountain range in Asia, separating the Indian subcontinent from the Tibetan Plateau. By extension, it is also the name of the massive mountain system which includes the Karakoram, the Hindu Kush, the Toba Kakar, and a host of minor ranges extending from the Pamir Knot. The name is from Sanskrit himālaya, a tatpurusa compound meaning “the abode of snow” (from hima “snow”, and ālaya “abode”; see also Himavat).[1]As words, the expression “Himalaya Range” is similar to the expression Sierra Nevada.
Together, the Himalayan mountain system is the planet’s highest and home to the world’s highest peaks: the Eight-thousanders, including Mount Everest and K2. To comprehend the enormous scale of this mountain range consider that Aconcagua, in the Andes, at 6,962 m, is the highest peak outside Asia, while the Himalayan system includes over 100 mountains exceeding 7,200 meters.[2]
The Himalayan system, which includes outlying subranges, stretches across five countries: Bhutan, China, India, Nepal, Pakistanand Afghanistan. They are the source of three of the world’s major river systems, the Indus, the Ganga-Brahmaputra, and the Yangtze. Approximately 1.3 billion people live in the drainage basin of the Himalayan rivers.
The range proper runs west to east, from the Indus river valley to the Brahmaputra river valley, thereby forming an arc 2,400 km long, which varies in width from 400 km in the western Kashmir-Xinjiang region to 150 km in the eastern Tibet-Arunachal Pradesh region. The Himalaya chain consists of three parallel ranges, with the northern-most range known as the Great or Inner Himalayas.
