Algebra 1 Question…?

here is a question that i’m stuck on.
A river is flooded and the height of the water is rising. The levee along the river is 30 feet high and workers are building it higher at a rate of 0.5 ft per hour. The water height is 28 feet and it is rising 0.75 ft each hour.
A. Describe this situation with a system of equations
B. Solve the system to find when the water will reach the top of the levee
C. If, in fact, the water stops rising after 12 hours, will it rise above the levee and cause a flood?
Please can someone show me how to do this and get the correct answer?
Thanks!

lets establish some variables
X=levee height
Y=water height
so
a) X= 30+ 0.5a
Y= 28+0.75a
where a=hours building the wall

b) set them equal to each other and solve for a

c) plug 12 in both equations and see if they equal each other
if they do then water won’t rise above the levee
if they don’ then water will rise above the levee
