OUR STRATEGY

Through research, facts and figures we hope to bring enough pressure upon various local, state and federal governments so that changes can be put into place to enable the reduction of environmental damage along the Darling River system.

The general feelings of many who live in the regions throughout south eastern Australia are strongly against the way in which the rivers are managed and abused. This frustration is building to the point of possible legal action against the very organisations who have allowed the degradation to take place, government bodies and departments.

Without government changes on policy there is no possible way to control what the private sector is doing.

The QLD and NSW Governments need to consider the long term damage that is taking place and act now to rectify the current over-use of water throughout the Darling River and her tributaries. There must be a commitment throughout the upper reaches of the Darling River to allow considerable environmental flows to carry the full length of the river channel to the Murray River. This will allow the gradual return of healthy river life and a fairer allocation of water for environmental purposes.
