The Pink Dolphin lives in the Amazon Rainforest. It is usually found in the tributaries and main rivers of the Orinoco River systems in South America. This animal can stay summerged up to fifteen minutes in the rivers. Males sleep just below the surface and they come up to breathe as the reflex. The Pink Dolphin’s body has adapted to the rivers of the Amazon.

The Pink Dolphin looks almost like the gray dolphin, but they have differences. It measures 2.5 to 3 meters long. Although males are generally larger. The color of its body is pale pink. Instead of having a dorsal fin like the gray dolphin, it has a hump on its back. The Pink Dolphin’s tale is bigger and it has 2 flippers that look like big leaves. The Pink Dolphin’s neck is kind of long and his head has a little hump in the forehead. His beak is long and has tiny hairs on top. This animal has tiny eyes. The Pink Dolphin can turn its head 180 degrees, all the way around since it has an unfused vertebrae. It weighs approximately 90 kilograms. The Pink Dolphin got its amazing pink color from the kind of water it lives in, and the kind of food it eats.

The Pink Dolphins eat a large quantity of food per day. They don’t like to eat alone, therefore when they find a school of fish; they make a loud sound to call their pod. The pods or groups may dive below a school of fish and bring them to the surface. The kinds of fish they eat are crustaceans, catfish, and small fresh water fishes. During the night they hunt zooplankton. Almost all of the Pink Dolphin’s adaptations help them find food.

The Pink Dolphin does not have many adaptations. During the years it developed a long beak to get it’s prey. Its small eyes are also an adaptation; it helps the animal see better in the water. Their flexible bodies help them swim faster and get more food. These dolphins can swim at a speed of up to 20 miles per hour. Some of the Pink Dolphin’s adaptations can help him protect it self.

The Pink Dolphin does not have many enemies, so it has few ways to protect it self. One of the ways it protects it self is by staying with its pod or group. Another ways would be making squeaking sounds to call its pod. If a Pink Dolphin is alone, it will use it’s long beak to protect it self. This animal also uses his flippers for protection and also for mating.

The Pink Dolphin’s sexual maturity age is unknown, but it does have a size when it is sexually mature. Males are 2 meters long when they are sexually mature, but females 1.7 meters when they are sexually mature. The mating season of the Pink Dolphins varies, but it is usually at the end of summer. Courtship rituals include lots of surfacing, breaching, flipper contact, and vocalizations. When they start mating, they hold onto each other with their flippers. Then fertilization takes place. Something strange is that same sex dolphins can reproduce. The Pink Dolphin’s gestation period is from 9-12 months. The calf’s lactation period lasts 18-20 months. This means the calf drinks milks from its mother from 18-20 months. Usually the Pink Dolphin that gives birth to the calf takes care of it with help of other dolphins from its pod. The mother raises and protects the calf for 1-3 years.

The calf’s are protected a lot by their mother and by the mother’s pod. They hide the calf’s in their side to protect them. The mother covers with her body the calf. As the calf starts to get older, it leaves its mother, and gets a pod or group about the same age. With this group it protects it self from enemies.

The Pink Dolphin is a very nice and friendly animal. The only enemy it has is humans. Although the Pink Dolphin has 40% more brain capacity than humans do, it still gets killed and hurt by them.

The Pink Dolphin is endangered, because of humans. Humans are destroying the South American Tropical Rainforest. They are also dumping chemicals on the rivers. Another reason is that they get trapped in fishnets accidentally. Humans are killing and making a beautiful species extinct. To stop this they are trying to do captive breeding programs, but a Pink Dolphin only survives 4 hours outside of the waters.

Their plan was surprisingly simple, their journey anything but.
Don Starkell and his two sons, Dana and Jeff, would paddle and portage south to the Mississippi River system along the Gulf of Mexico and on to the head of the Amazon. Battling a barrage of internal and external conflicts, their epic canoe trip threatens to take them beyond their physical and psychological limits. Don and Dana Starkell face unimaginable challenges from both the natural world and the human world. While they anticipate their biggest challenge to be from nature, it is their unwitting entrance onto the battlefields of social and political strife that threatens their lives. In short, being in the wrong place at the wrong time sees them attacked by pirates, arrested for being spies, shot at and mock-executed. No less intriguing is the evolving relationship between father and son who for 2 years
spend 24 hours together within the confines of a canoe, a situation that comes to blows of its own as father and son jockey for dominance. With determination, grit and sometimes sheer madness Dana and Don Starkell survive their paddle to the Amazon and enter The Guinness Book of World Records for the longest trip ever made by canoe.

The control was developed (during my masters’s degree at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro UFRJ) to improve the stability and traction of the system.

The first tests were done in laboratory, using a platform developed to emulate rough terrains. The last test was realized on the margins of Solimões River, in Amazon rainforest.

Imagine only drinking dirty contaminated water… your family never able to see a Doctor… queuing hours for a tablet that would ease the pain…

In May 2005 BAE Systems completed a second ship for the Vine Trust, the charity behind the Amazon Ferry Project.

Amazon Hope 2, which was re-commissioned at the International Festival of the Sea by HRH The Princess Royal, will join Amazon Hope later in the year (2005) to provide a floating health service for the deprived communities along the Amazon river.

In June 2004 the Fleet Diving Tender IXWORTH arrived in Barrow-in Furness. Here she has been refurbished and converted into a floating medical centre which will provide much needed medical services for the people of the Amazon.

Local Businesses, Schools, Community Organisations and Churches were asked to help out with this project. The target was to raise 100,000 pounds to cover the cost of the equipment and materials which would be used in this conversion.

This target has been exceeded enabling additional items to be added to the original specification.

This video has been produced to capture the various stages in the conversion of Amazon Hope 2.

The Community has pulled together to make this a project we can all be proud of…

http://camu.zamushowcase.com/ Troy Casey explains Amazon Herbs in detail.

MIKE ADAMS:
The Amazon Herb Company is clearly on the leading edge of harvesting, blending and distributing rainforest botanicals, and they have strong business ethics and demonstrate great care for the environment. Perhaps in some parallel universe all businesses act with integrity and compassion for the Earth, but here in modern society today, the Amazon Herb Company is a rare find.

I encourage everyone to take a close look at what this company (and its products) can do for you. I’ve been researching these products for quite some time and recently took a trip to South America to interview people and research these herbs first hand. What I found is a powerful system of medicine based on rainforest herbs that can literally reverse serious diseases like cancer, diabetes, heart disease, depression, joint inflammation and many more. Better yet, these herbs are naturally bio-compatible with the human body, meaning they have no negative side effects and operate at levels of safety that are orders of magnitude better than most prescription drugs. (They’re also a whole lot more affordable than prescription medications…)

Sound too good to be true? That’s what I thought at first, too. But then I took the time to meet the people, research the rainforest herbs and experience their healing effects myself. Now I’m not only convinced this is the company that’s going to pave the way to sustainable business practices in the coming years, I’m also convinced it represents the very best business opportunity available in the natural health industry today for anyone interested in an independent, at-home business where you control your own financial destiny. That’s no casual claim, either. Read my full report to see why I’ve become such an outspoken advocate of the Amazon Herb Company. http://www.naturalnews.com/021968.html

In the Western world, SUMA is used as a tonic for the cardiovascular system, the central nervous system, the reproductive system, and the digestive system. It is used to alleviate certain hormonal disorders and the symptoms of menopause. These applications have been for the most part confirmed by science. For example, a series of natural hormone-like compounds have been isolated from suma, namely sitosterol, stigmasterol, and beta-ecdysterone.

The First International Congress on Ethnopharmacology held in Strasbourg, France, in 1990, described a trial done at the Institute of Sexology in Paris on 262 men with erection problems and a lack of sexual desire. Researchers found that over half of the subjects given a daily dose of 1 to 1.5 g of MUIRA PUAMA extract over two weeks experienced positive benefits to their sex lives. An earlier scientific study of muira puama was conducted by another French doctor, Dr. Rebourgeon. His research found the plant to be effective in gastrointestinal and circulatory asthenia as well as impotence.
Maca is mostly known for its effect on male sexual energy and female hormonal balance. Many studies have been carried out describing Macas benefits in these domains. In men, Maca was shown to improve sperm production and sperm motility.
Camu Camu fruit contains the highest concentrated source of naturally occurring vitamin C (thirty times more than an orange) along with ten times as much iron, three times as much niacin, twice as much riboflavin and fifty percent more phosphorus. It is a significant source of potassium, minerals and amino acids. Featured as a visionary on Jean-Michel Cousteaus 2008 documentary Ocean Adventures Return to the Amazon, John Easterling and his company were recognized as the strongest testament that keeping the Rainforest alive and productive is more economically profitable than cutting it down.

THE AMAZON JOHN STORY
Amazon John Easterling, who holds a degree in Environmental Studies from the University of North Carolina, spent many years searching the Amazon Rainforest for treasures and ancient artifacts.
